Aylin Vatankoş
Aylin Vatankoş represented Turkey in ESC 1992 held in Malmö, Sweden with her song “Yaz Bitti” (Summer is over). She finished the contest with 17 points ranking 19th among 23 songs.
She is a graduate of Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory and worked as a contracted artist for the Turkish Radio Television (TRT). She performed in the Classical Turkish Music Choir of TRT. In 1995, she published her first album called “Çözemedim” (I could not solve). Later she married guitarist Engin Şenyaylar, whom she met while working on this album. She took a break from creating her own music until 2006. During that period she performed vocals in many artists’ albums and had voice acting parts in various TV series. She took part with two of her songs in an album called “Turkish Music - Unforgettable Golden Songs” in 2006. In 2010, she published another nine-track album called “Yeniden” (Again) consisting of neoclassical Turkish songs.
After ESC, she primarily focused on traditional classic Turkish music with modern tones rather than pop music. She is still actively singing and enjoying her modest work.
