Alvan’s debut album “Magma” was my favourite release of 2022, and while the entire thing is worth a listen, apart from his Eurovision song “Fulenn”, my favourite song off the album is the title track. Containing Alvan’s signature ukelele sound (that he also brought with him on stage at ESC!), “Magma” is a hypnotic, almost trance-like listen that wouldn’t sound out of place on the dancefloor at a nightclub.
It’s electronic pop excellence complete with a rocking guitar solo at the end, sure to redeem any disappointment of where he and Ahez finished in Turin.
